Waterjet Cutting Machine

QSM-3-SZ Hydrostatic Water–Driven Mining Waterjet Cutter is an intrinsically safe waterjet cutting system specifically developed for underground operations in high-gas coal mines. The machine utilizes the existing 3–6 MPa hydrostatic water supply available underground and, through an integrated hydraulic intensifier, boosts the pressure to over 30 MPa. It requires no electricity and no hot work, enabling efficient and safe cold-cutting operations in hazardous environments. The entire system contains no electrical components. During cutting, it produces no sparks, no heat, and no material deformation, fundamentally eliminating the risk of methane ignition or gas explosion. As a result, it is recognized as one of the most mature and reliable cold-cutting solutions for underground work in high-gas coal mines.

Product Description

Application of Waterjet Cutting Equipment in Coal Mines

Coal remains a major component of global primary energy consumption. However, deep mining has turned many coal mines into high-gas environments. In atmospheres with methane concentrations above 1.0%, traditional flame cutting and mechanical cutting pose significant risks due to sparks and high temperatures. Coal and gas outburst accidents severely restrict safe mining operations.
Waterjet cutting equipment is built around the core value of intrinsic safety. Its spark-free, hot-work-free operation underground eliminates ignition hazards at the source. Compared with traditional cutting methods, dust generation is reduced by approximately 85%, while gas drainage efficiency is also improved.

By using high-pressure water flow to achieve spark-free cutting, waterjet technology overcomes hot-work restrictions in high-gas environments, simplifies mining processes, and significantly reduces accident rates compared with conventional mines.

Static-pressure waterjet cutting equipment represents two major technological breakthroughs: static-pressure water adaptability and intrinsic safety. A hydraulic intensification module boosts standard mine static water pressure (3–6 MPa) to a working pressure of 30 MPa, addressing the lack of high-pressure water sources underground. The fully hydraulic drive design, with no electrical components, eliminates electrical spark hazards and fully meets the requirements for hot-work-free cutting in underground coal mines.
